If you’re answer was “it’s Jupiter, duh!” then you need to give the FP Software Lab-developed Jupiter 3D Space Tour a try. What is Jupiter 3D Space Tour and what does it do? Here’s the brief and to the point explanation:

Jupiter 3D Space Tour is a screensaver that works with just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. When the computer goes idle, the screensaver kicks in and takes you on a space tour of Jupiter, the planet you said is your favorite one. You will get to see some good looking images and extremely realistic atmospheric animations of Jupiter.

If you’re thinking about getting Jupiter 3D Space Tour and put it to the test, do so only after taking a look at the technical details presented below:

Download – the download weighs in at 3.1MB, which isn’t that much. A 3.1MB download will complete in very little time, even on a less than spectacular internet connection. I don’t know about you, but I don’t particularly like to wait a long time to get an application off the web and onto my computer.
Supported OS – tested Jupiter 3D Space Tour on a Windows XP and on a Windows 7-powered PC and it seemed to work just fine.
Limitations – sadly though, Jupiter 3D Space Tour is not freeware, it is only free to try. Soon after the screensaver launches, a floating window that tells you to register the screensaver appears and, well, floats around. I found this nag screen to be truly annoying.
